Goals from Jo Love (2), Fiona Brown (2), Leanne Ross (2), Denise O’Sullivan, Eilish McSorley and Abbi Grant made it an easy home game for Petershill Park ladies.

O’Sullivan got the team off to the perfect start after heading home a Fiona Brown cross after three minutes.

Not long after, Leanne Ross doubled the lead on 17 minutes when she pounced on a loose ball and scored from close range.

After that it seemed to be open season on poor Forfar as a further three goals flew into the net to put City five to the good at the break.

But the second half was no picnic either for the visitors as another four goals ended what must have been a humiliating, depressing day for Forfar.

Head coach Eddie Wolecki Black said: “We are very happy to get the three points.

“We knew that Forfar had a young team out and they would be ful of energy and enthusiasm and we had to make sure we played with our heads today.

“I was glad we got the breakthrough early on and at times I felt we played some really good football.

“The injury [to Forfar’s McNicoll] and resultant break in play didn’t help the game and we are glad to hear that Fiona McNicoll is recovering.

“Full credit to Forfar: they battled 90 minutes and in all honesty their league season won’t depend on games like today.”
