Childhood will evoke a lot of happy memories for Glaswegians as they remember being taken to one of Glasgow’s many parks on a sunny day for a ‘pokey hat’ or going to an old cafe for their dinner.
Not every place that featured in people’s childhood is however still standing in the city with the likes of Crossmyloof Ice Rink, Kelvin Hall Carnival and the Glasgow Zoo no longer existing.
Here are six places in Glasgow you can still visit from your childhood in 2025.

5. Missing Records

6. Cafe Gandolfi
Cafe Gandolfi has been a staple in Glasgow for over four decades in Glasgow and seen the likes of Billy Connolly and Annie Lennox queue for a table. They've been on the go since 1979, and because of this, people have a past with the restaurant. | Cafe Gandolfi

7. The Mitchell Library
The Mitchell Library and Glasgow are synonymous with each other with the building on North Street having been an essential part of city life for well over 100 years. 8. O Sole Mio
Established back in 1965, this popular Italian eatery is still going after 60 years and remains a favourite to Glaswegians until this day. Although the restaurant had to move further along Bath Street, they are still going strong. | O Sole Mio
