Angus ghosts haunt Clyde again

CLYDE failed to exorcise the ghosts of the past on Saturday as they suffered another heavy defeat at the hands of the Gable Endies, going down 4-0 at Links Park.

Last season the Bully Wee lost 8-1 and 3-1 away to Montrose and this season had already been put out of the Scottish Cup by the Angus club.

With strikers Liam Cusack and Jordan White moving on to Cowdenbeath and Falkirk respectively Steph McDonald and Ryan Kane returned to the line-up while on-loan Falkirk midfielder Dale Fulton was handed his first start with Pat Scullion moving back to centre-half in place of Jason Marr.

Goalkeeper David Crawford had been involved in a car accident of Friday, but handed his side a boost by declaring himself fit, although Scullion took over his kicking duties.

The match had been in doubt prior to kick-off as the Links Park astroturf almost succumbed to the overnight sub-zero temperatures, but after an inspection the game went ahead.
