Basketball girls fly the flag
YOUNG Cumbernauld basketball stars travelled to San Marino recently to represent Scotland at under-15 level – and they came back with a trophy.
The girls – Erin Ruddy (captain), Christie Lamb, Caitlin McGoohan, Shannon McAuley and Toni Ferrie, all pupils at St. Maurice’s High School – took part in the San Marino Basketball Cup.
They won 49-36 against Rimini in the final, and Shannon was asked to collect the cup because she was top scorer.
