Best friends from Lenzie are athletic golden girls
Best friends Valencia Wright and Holly Kirkwood, from Lenzie, struck gold in the recent West District athletics championships.
Valencia took first first place in the under-13 1500 metres at Kilmarnock while her VP City of Glasgow clubmate Holly leapt to success in the long jump. The 11-year-olds are both are in their first year at the age group.
Both girls currently attend primary school - Valencia at Millersneuk and Holly at Lenzie Moss - but will be moving up to Lenzie Academy in August.
Valencia was also an attendant for the Lenzie Gala year and had been at the crowning at Lenzie Primary on the day of the championships.
