Lanark Racecourse was the venue for a fantastic free-flowing game on a Friday afternoon as the school’s under-18 sides clashed.

Four late tries from Biggar meant the score was 43-10 in their favour, although this local derby was keenly contested for the majority of the match.

Both schools have been working with SRU Development Officer Calum Taylor with some of the boys, who are team mates at Biggar Colts, on different sides this time around.

The Lanark Grammar side also received new strips, shorts and socks thanks to Lanark Rugby Club, The Rotary Club of Lanark and Lanark Round Table.

Lanark Rugby Club captain Iain Hughes said: “I counted over 50 people young and old out watching and the comments from all were very positive and encouraging.”
