Biggar High youngsters enjoy Villarreal football tournament

A LUCKY group of 19 youngsters from Biggar High School recently returned from a once in a lifetime five-day football development tour to the Spanish mega football club Villarreal.

The tour was organised by Biggar High PE teacher Tommy Lennox and his Maths colleague Alec Dunbar, in collaboration with a specialist sports tour provider.

“We chose Villarreal due to a number of factors,” said Tommy, “the weather, the excellent hotel facilities and the location of the hotel right next to the beach being great reasons!

“The standard of the club’s training facilities and the club’s reputation for having excellent coaches were also important reasons in us going there.”
