The 22-10 scoreline in National League One saw Biggar score four tries in total which came from Bertram, Notman, Taylor and Boland. The win moves the Hartreemill men up to ninth in the table.

Unfortunately Biggar’s win was the only highlight of a weekend which saw every other match involving Clydesdale’s rugby and football sides called off due to the awful weather conditions.

The local derby between Carluke Rovers and Lesmahagow was called off despite Rovers having an all weather surface at the John Cumming Stadium.

The other football games postponed were Lanark United’s home match against Ashfield and Forth Wanderers v Cambuslang Rangers.

And Lanark Rugby Club’s match against Millbrae at the Racecourse also fell foul of the weather.

For more reaction to Biggar’s excellent victory and the rest of the weekend reaction see this week’s Gazette Sport which is out on Wednesday.
