Biggar Rugby Club beat Stewarts Melville 41-21

ONE week after a second half collapse saw them lose at Edinburgh Accies having led 18-0, Biggar Rugby Club players responded in the best possible fashion at Hartreemill on Saturday.

Despite being reduced to 14 men when Conor Lavery was red carded for a dangerous high tackle with half an hour remaining and the score at 10-10, Biggar regrouped superbly to eventually run out 41-21 winners against Stewarts Melville in an incredible Premier 2 clash.

Biggar's victory was made even more remarkable by the fact that they also lost influential prop Scott Cameron to concussion after 20 minutes, and kicker Craig Parker to the sin bin with seven minutes remaining.

Head coach Ants Posa said: "I was delighted that the boys took heed of what I'd said to them in training during the week, about acting positively when things aren't going the way you'd like."
