Former Dunfermline and Kilmarnock gaffer Gavin was officially unveiled as the Hartree Mill boss last week and met all the players on Tuesday evening.

And despite a disappointing campaign last time around, Gavin, who won the RBS National Shield with the Fifers before just missing out on promotion with Killie, believes that the Biggar blend of youth and experience will see them challenging in the near future.

He said: “I really enjoyed coming to Biggar as a player so I was delighted to be given the chance to coach here.

“This season is all about getting a firm footing in the National League and trying to get into the top half.”
