Biggar to have its first adult amateur football team since 1989
A RECENT recruitment drive has ensured that the town of Biggar will have its first adult football team in an amateur league for 23 years.
One of the main men involved in the establishment of Biggar FC – a 2012 version of the former Biggar United adult amateur team disbanded in 1989 – is midfielder John Murphy.
He said: “We formed the team around five or six months ago but it’s only recently that we managed to get enough players to enter a league.”
