Blair Weir (6) called up for Great Britain team

Six-year-old Blair Weir was diagnosed with type one diabetes in February.

But that hasn't stopped him from turning out for his Kirkfield United side and continuing to enjoy his football.

Now he will be flying out to the Swiss city to represent Great Britain in this year's competition, to be held from August 20 to 22.

Both mum Lesa and dad James couldn't be happier for their son.

Lesa said: "We are all really looking forward to going out there. It's going to be a great weekend."

The competition is open to boys and girls with type one diabetes who have a passion for football.
