Bowling prizes carpeted at Carmichael

It was the 100th annual event, the first being agreed in 1910 and held in Newside in 1911.

Trophies were presented by Flora Brown. Winners were: Champion Curlie Cunningham, runner-up Bert Carswell; Handicap Cup Jack Meikle, runner-up Trebor Rennie.

The rinks were won by Curlie Cunningham, Janette Elliot and Anne Bannatyne, runners-up John Collins, Jim Brown and Peggie Simpson.

The Triples Cup went to S McSporran, Jim Brown and Jessie Wilson, runners-up Bert Carswell, Janette Elliot and P Simpson. Pairs winners were Curlie Cunningham and Flora Brown with Bert Carswell and Janette Elliot runners-up.

The Points was won by S McSporran with J Meikle second. Ladies Champion was Janette Elliot, runner-up Jessie Wilson; Ladies Handicap was won by Jessie Wilson with Flora Brown runner-up.

Ladies Pairs was won by Helen Reid and John Collins with Janette Elliot and Curlie Cunningham runners-up. Ladies Points winner was Flora Brown with Nancy Nicholl runner-up.
