Mitch gears up for

CUMBERNAULD’S professional boxer Mitch Prince is preparing for his next fight.

Mitch has been booked to feature in the Steelmen Return, a night of eleven bouts taking place at Ravenscraig Sports Facility, Motherwell, on Friday, March 8.

Mitch, who is awaiting confirmation on who he will fight and for how many rounds, he said: “I am looking forward to getting back to it. I have expressed interest to my promoter Tommy Gilmour that I want to fight both Willie Limond and Eddie Doyle.”

Mitch wants to defend his British Masters title against Eddie Doyle, whose recent challenge for Limond’s Commonwealth light-welterweight title was stopped in the first round. Then, after the title defence, he wants to claim the Commonwealth belt from Limond.

“I am confident I could become the next Commonwealth title holder,” Mitch added.

Tickets for the fight are £30 each and £40 for ringside and can be bought from Mitch, who will also charter a bus. He added: “This promises to be an amazing night’s boxing. If I wasn’t on it I would be going to it. For details contact me on 07912963761.”

The Steelmen Return is a joint promotion from Prospect Boxing and Chris Gilmour. The bill is topped by Glasgow’s Gary McCallum and Paul Allison from Stranraer, who will battle it out for the vacant Scottish Middleweight title in a ten-round bout.
