British martial arts glory for Andy Snape

LANARK Mixed Martial Arts Club fighter Andy Snape last week won the Cage Kombat Professional British welterweight title at Dalkeith Miners Club with a first round stoppage of veteran Welsh fighter and former two time British champion Paul Jenkins.

The win by Carluke man Andy (31) in front of a crowd of 800 brought another British title to the club following his 21-year-old Carnwath-based team-mate Graham Turner's British Total Combat title triumph late last year.

"Im extremely proud of the two guys," said Lanark MMA club coach James Doolan, who was in Andy's corner for the British victory.
