Carluke Rovers show off new signings

CARLUKE Rovers manager Colin Slater reckons the capture of prolific Forth Wanderers striker Kenny Wright could help fire the club to back-to-back promotions next season.

Wright – who signed a two-year deal at Carluke on Thursday night – netted 30 times for Forth last season and joins deadly Rovers marksmen Stewart Arnott, Darren Hamilton and Stevie Ferguson at John Cumming Stadium.

“Kenny is a prolific scorer and it is a very exciting prospect bringing him in because he is an experienced forward who has played at senior level with Motherwell,” Colin said.

“He was a stand-out for Forth last season, is a great reader of the game and links up well with other players.”

It has already been a productive summer of new signings for Rovers ahead of their return to Central Division 1 after last season’s Central Division 2 title win.

Colin has also brought in right back Marc Napier on a two-year deal from Forth and snapped up fellow defender William Souter from Carluke Hearts and former Overtown Thistle midfielder Ian Cook from the amateur ranks.
