Carluke stock car ace Stuart Shevill Jnr’s fantastic time in 2011

CARLUKE stock car ace Stuart Shevill Jnr had a fantastic 2011 in which he won the saloon Scottish Championship title to emulate his dad Stuart Snr, a three-time winner.

Shevill Jnr loves the buzz of saloon racing, describing it as “heavily armoured Sierras with front and rear bumpers reaching almost 70mph on a quarter mile oval”.

Stuart, a bus mechanic at the Stuarts Coachworks family business, said: “Contact is allowed, so there can be some interesting clashes as two drivers battle for supremacy going into a bend.
