Carluke student Connor Walker joins Lanarkshire Children’s Games volleyball team

THE number of Carluke High School pupils in the eight-player Team Lanarkshire International Children’s Games boys’ volleyball squad has been sensationally increased from six to seven.

First reserve, Carluke High lad Connor Walker, was this week drafted into the team following the withdrawal of Stonelaw High School’s Andrew Murray through injury.

Connor and fellow Carluke High students Matthew Berry, Stuart MacKenzie, Andrew McLeod, Andrew McIntyre, Marc McLaughlin and Jordan Scott will take on section rivals Edinburgh, Brantford (Canada) and Kecskemet (Hungary) in group matches at Wishaw Sports Centre on Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6.
