Carluke’s Isla Kirkhope is sixth at carriage driving in Buckingham

APPRENTICE baker Isla Kirkhope, of Carluke, rose to the challenge when competing against experienced male riders up to 40 years older than her.

The 17-year-old, wearing a green tweed jacket and hat with burgundy velvet trim, finished sixth in a prestigious carriage driving event at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckingham on October 1.

“This was the first time Isla had taken part in an event down south,” said her mum Heather.
