Carluke’s Sarah scores for Scotland in borrowed boots

CARLUKE footballer Sarah Crilly attended a Scotland Ladies match as a spectator – and ended up coming onto the park and scoring a goal on her international debut while wearing a pair of borrowed boots two sizes too big for her!

The drama for Sarah (20) started when Scotland player Rhonda Jones went off injured after 55 minutes of Thursday’s Scotland v Norway friendly match at Dunfermline’s East End Park.

“I was just sitting there with my friends watching the game so it was a total shock when somebody told me I was going to be playing up front,” Sarah said.

“I borrowed boots from Scotland squad member Christie Murray, who’s a size five when I’m a size three.

“So I had to wear three pairs of socks.”
