Carnwath’s Arran Preston is karate bronze at only five years old
Arran was the only one of 20 members from Carluke-based Tokyui Ryu Karate Academy to win a medal at the prestigious British International Open Championship.
He won two bouts in the Boys Kumite five to six years open weight competition before narrowly losing his third fight at the top event featuring fighters from the UK and foreign countries including Canada, Russia and Ukraine.
