Clyde Arrows hit the bullseye as they retain their Ayrshire League title

Clyde Arrows Archery Club has won the Ayrshire League for a second year in a row.

With over 15 members taking part in this year’s competition, the members came back with a massive haul of 11 medals.

The main team of Frank Hynds, Mark Forrester, Ian McMillan and Phil Reoch won not only the tournament, but Frank Hynds also took the award for the highest average throughout.

Several other members of the club took medals for the under-10 boys’ section, under-10 girls’ section, under-16 section and the under-12 section.

Clyde Arrows also won gold and silver awards for the novice category and the Gold award for the best improved novice.

Clyde Arrows is a local archery club set up in 1970 and has been based in Milngavie at the Milngavie and Bearsden Sport Club for over 16 years.

They welcome learners and archers of all abilities and bow styles, and support archers of all levels.

They have a number of qualified coaches who are there to help meet the needs of members.

Thanks to films like the Hunger Games and The Avengers, archery is becoming a very popular sport.
