Clydesdale Short Mat Bowls season is underway
A TOTAL of 15 triples took part in a seniors tournament at Carluke Leisure Centre marking the official start of the Clydesdale Short Mat Bowls Inter Village season.
Eventual winners of the annual challenge match were Molly Fullarton (Ravenstruther) and her Lanark partners Margaret Quigley and Flo Brown, who in the final defeated Willie Ramage (Lanark), Doreen Pottinger (Biggar) and Betsy Wright (Carluke).
This mixture of players will be included in the nine teams contesting this year’s league and cup competitions, which will be played on Wednesdays between now and next April at venues in Carluke, Biggar, Lanark and Crossford.
