Coalburn kids go the distance for charity

COALBURN girl Nicole Struthers, Blackwood-based cousin Alistair McLean and family friend Jamie Turley, of Coalburn, completed the 3K Junior Great Scottish Run in their very first experience of competitive running.

The three youngsters, aged nine, 10 and 16 respectively, raised 364.50 for Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC) by finishing a race contested by 1235 runners at Glasgow Green.

Nicole's mum Jackie said: "They all did really well to finish the race in under 20 minutes."
