Colin Slater takes over as manager of Carluke Rovers

NEW Carluke Rovers manager Colin Slater, who works for Scottish Coal, will be digging deep to try and get Rovers promoted from Central Division 2 next season.

Slater (39), who has lived in Carluke all his days, can’t wait to get his hands dirty in his new job at John Cumming Stadium as the replacement for long-serving Whitey Moffat who quit as Rovers boss last month.

Slater said: “Five people were interviewed for the manager’s job so I was really pleased to get it.

“I’m looking for us to get promotion next season. I think we can do it.
