Crossford launch to Clyde salmon fishing season

THE launch of the salmon fishing season in Crossford on Saturday morning was relished by many local anglers, dignitaries and a special guest, the world-renowned Spey caster Peter Anderson.

Peter, who would later cast the first line in the River Clyde to officially launch the 2012 campaign, had earlier explained his passion for fishing to an attentive crowd in the Popinjay Hotel.

He said: “Angling has been my life. I have been fishing since I was a tot and thankfully I’ve been very successful.
