The thinking behind this is that the sport has a unique opportunity to teach life lessons to children through their participation.

The PCS scheme aims to help club leaders, parents, teachers and coaches to encourage young people to stay in football.

The festival’s positive atmosphere was apparent throughout the different age groups.

Chairman Stewart McKenzie said: “A pre-season event like this is both great for their physical workout, as well as the community aspect, bringing clubs together in preparation for the season ahead.”

Cup Final results: U15s Cumbernauld Colts 2 v 2 Murieston (Murieston won on pens); U14s Glenboig 98s 7 v 0 Kilsyth Athletic; U13s Cumbernauld Colts 99s 0 v 1 Aston Villa.
