Cumbernauld players help earn Scotland a third

YOUNG basketball players from Cumbernauld recently put on a slam dunk performance to earn Scotland a third place finish in a European competition.

Michelle Bradley (16), from Condorrat, and Taylor McKeown (15), from Balloch, made the Scotland under-16 squad for the Women FIBA Euro C competition which recently took place in Gibraltar.

The girls took home a bronze medal from the event, and a delighted Michelle, who plays point guard, thanked a Cumbernauld-based company who helped make the trip possible for her.

Adventure Planet sponsored Michelle for £200, which helped her make the trip.

The St Maurice’s High School pupil also plays for Glasgow Rocks under-16s ladies, and this is the third time she has been capped for her country.
