“There is a thin line between success and failure, but my dream is to turn professional so I have to start making my mark.”

Fraser, who is a member of Williamwood, joined the club when he was eight and has never looked back.

Now the youngster, who is coached by Steven Orr, plays off a handicap of +1 and he was part of Scotland’s winning U16 Quadrangular team.

Now in the U18 age group, he will compete at the Scottish boys Championships at West Kilbride in April. Last season he made it to the final 16, but with a year of maturity and practice under his belt, this year he hopes to go all the way.

Fraser continued: “I have worked extremely hard in the gym, especially during winter when golfing becomes more difficult. It’s an important part of the sport. I will be golfing as much as possible from now untill April.”

After school, the southsider hopes to attend Stirling University to study sport studies and continue his development at the University’s golf centre.
