The Bishopbriggs club say they are delighted with the response they have had after advertising the post following the departure of Martin Lauchlan.

A number of ‘high calibre’ applicants have expressed an interest in the post and the club has now whittled them down to a shortlist of five.

A final decision is expected over the weekend, although the new man won’t be in place for Saturday’s Central League First Division clash with Carluke Rovers at Petershill.

Injured midfielder Jamie Hunter and kitman Frank Brady took charge of the team for last week’s match at Neilston - which ’Vale won 1-0 - and are expected to be on dugout duties again for the clash with Carluke.

Rossvale go into the match in third place in the table, four points adrift of leaders Renfrew but with three games in hand.

Wishaw are second in the table, three points ahead of Rossvale having played two games more.
