The Steelmen - despite being far from their best - led through Ryan Bowman's early strike. But the high flying Lions levelled through Keaghan Jacobs' stunning second half free-kick.In an almost morgue-like atmosphere early on, Scott Robinson had a shot deflected just wide for Livi on six minutes.Curtis Main then headed weakly at keeper Liam Kelly at the other end before the Lions roared back with Ricki Lamie's centre headed over by Dolly Menga.Carl McHugh's left footed volley from 25 yards had accuracy but not the power to trouble Kelly, but Motherwell did hit the front on 17 minutes. The returning Allan Campbell played in Bowman, whose low shot seemed to take a deflection on its way past Kelly. There was then major controversy as Livi have a goal disallowed. The ball ended up in the net following Keaghan Jacobs' corner but referee Willie Collum disallowed the strike for an apparent foul on Trevor Carson.Leading 1-0 at half-time without ever looking thoroughly convincing, the Steelmen were pegged back to 1-1 in remarkable style on 64 minutes. After Hartley had been booked for a foul on Menga, Jacobs sent a powerful 22-yard free-kick into the top right corner of the net.McHugh was booked for a 68th minute foul and this proved costly 10 minutes later when the Irishman was dismissed for another foul.In a game short on goalmouth incidents, Bowman shot weakly at Kelly late on before Carson earned his corn at the other end by saving a close range effort following a corner from the left. But at least the Steelmen ended their recent run of five straight defeats.Motherwell: Carson, Tait, McHugh, Aldred, Hartley, Cadden, Campbell, Main (Johnson 72), Bowman, Rose (Bigirimana 72), Donnelly.Referee: Willie CollumCrowd: 4256
