Bearsden boys land double

The boys were crowned Glasgow Schools Football Association Division 5 league winners when they beat Holyrood Secondary 2-1 in extra-time.

It was the second week running they had got the better of their southside opponents - the previous Saturday they had lifted the Castle Cup, again defeating Holyrood 4-2 on penalties after two great saves from goalkeeper Mason McCready.

The team also got an extra-special reward for their efforts after their second victory - along with coach Mr Miller, Mr Douglas and Mr MacDonald they headed to Dubai for six days.

Whilst there they played friendlies with local teams in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well as visiting local attractions.

The winning team was: M McCready, C McCready, Robertson, Lynn, Kerr, Green, Muir, Fisher-Gibb, Sharpe, McLernan, Greenlees. Substitutes were Halliday, Blackwood, Arthur, Chauhdry, Burgess.
