Bonnyrigg should hold no fear for us: Maxwell

The Kirkintilloch side head throughto face the reigning East Region champions in a Scottish Junior Cup quarter-final showdown.

With one trophy already in the cabinet and four more up for grabs, Rabs could be on the verge of completing the club’s greatest ever season.

And for Maxwell it’s matches like Saturday’s which will determine whether his players can turn what has been a good season into a great one.

He said: ““I would say it’s the biggest game of the season. There will be a point in a season where defining factors kick in, whether you’re going to go on and do something or whether you’re going to lose and go back into the pack.

“This is a massive game for the club.

“We’ve put out two good East Region sides in Musselburgh - obviously we played them on a neutral venue so there was no advantage there - and we went through to Penicuik and scored four goals and they are sitting in the top four in that league.

“Bonnyrigg are a very good side but as long as we don’t get rattled, we stick to our game plan, keep our discipline then I think Rob Roy can hurt any junior team in the country with the ability we’ve got in the squad.

“You’ve got to grasp the opportunity, grasp the occasion and perform. If we go and play the way we can, we shouldn’t be fearing anybody else.”
