Bully Wee entertain in friendly draw

The Bully Wee returned to action last week when they travelled to Ochilview to take on Second Division Stenhousemuir in a friendly match.

The final score was 2-2, following a decent contest considering that both sides are still very early in their pre-season schedule.

Clyde’s team featured a mixture of signed squad members, players from the Youth Academy and some trialists, up against an experienced Stenhousemuir side, which included ex-Clyde men Eddie Malone and Ross McMillan.

The Bully Wee found the net first when Kieran MacDonald fired in a free-kick from the edge of the box, after Michael Daly was fouled. The Warriors equalised a few minutes from a header and the score remained at 1-1 at the interval.

Clyde regained the lead through another excellent free-kick effort, this time by John Sweeney. However, the home side levelled the score again following a cross ball into the box which the Clyde defence couldn’t clear.

CLYDE: Rajovic (Barclay), Brown (Young), Traynor (Trialist), Gray (Trialist), McQueen, MacBeth (McGhee), Orrick (McColm), Sweeney, Daly (Dickie), Scullion, MacDonald (Trialist).

The Bully Wee are back in action at Broadwood on Tuesday, July 16, when they face Dundee in another pre-season friendly.
