The 2024/25 Scottish Premiership campaign is already throwing up plenty of surprises as teams take stock during the November international break.
Rangers have been among the league’s under-performers and already sit nine points off first-place Celtic, with Aberdeen level on points with the Hoops and on course to take the second-spot European place.

Hide AdCeltic have matched their excellent domestic start with some encouraging performances in the Champions League and Brendan Rodgers won’t be so naïve as to discount Rangers from the title race. With all that in mind, Glasgow World has rounded up some of the latest stories from both sides of the city.
Bernabei saga
Forgotten Celtic man Alexandro Bernabei is reportedly at the centre of an intriguing transfer saga involving Former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos and Brazil legend Ronaldo. The £3.8million 2022 signing is currently out on loan at Brazilian side Internacional, a deal that runs until next summer and one they intend to make permanent when possible.
Brazilian outlet O Tempo report Internacional’s efforts will be met with competition from two of their rivals, Corinthians and Cruzeiro. The former are thought to be keen on a big-money double-swoop of Europe that will also see them sign Sergio Ramos, who is currently a free agent after leaving Sevilla.
Cruzeiro, who are currently owned by former Brazil and Barcelona striker Ronaldo, are also in the mix for Bernabei and so Celtic could be set to benefit from a three-team bidding war. Prospective suitors are thought to need around £8m for the 24-year-old, which would see the Hoops effectively double their money.

Rangers are likely to be priced out of a move for Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller, either by rivals Celtic or the financially superior Premier League, according to Daily Record journalist Keith Jackson. Eighteen-year-old Miller has burst onto the scene in the last 12 months and has two goals and three assists in 11 Scottish Premiership appearances for Motherwell, a run of form that has attracted both Glasgow outfits.
A move to one of the top Scottish Premiership teams presents a good opportunity for Miller, with former Celtic striker Chris Sutton urging the Parkhead club to ‘blow Rangers out of the water’ with a £5million offer for the teenager. But Jackson believes any interest from the Premier League will almost certainly see them both miss out.
“If Celtic aren’t already trying to engineer a deal behind the scenes then they should be,” Jackson told the Daily Record of interest in Miller. “Rangers are unlikely to have the financial clout to compete. But if England’s top flight comes sniffing around then both of them might be priced out of the bidding.”
