The eyes of the world will be on Scotland as they play host to Euro 2016 winners Portugal in a UEFA Nations League match, which is likely to feature five-time Ballon d’Or winner and one of the all-time greats of the game Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is the most capped player in international football history with 215 appearances and is also the highest goalscorer of all-time with 133 goals for Portugal since making his debut in 2003.
The 39-year-old, who scored a last minute winner in the last meeting between the two teams, has ambitions of becoming the first player in history to score 1000 career goals for both club and country and will be a huge threat for Scotland’s defence as they aim to pick up their first points of this UEFA Nations League campaign, having lost all of their previous three games by a single goal.
Thousands of fans in attendance will be excited to see Scotland test their wits against one of the world’s most well-known and marketable athletes in football history.
But what other big name stars have played in Glasgow over the last 10 years. Here we count down some of the best to have faced Celtic, Rangers and Scotland.
