A debate has engulfed after some Celtic investment chat.

A debate has broken out over what Snoop Dogg would really like out of investing in Celtic.

The hip-hop legend made unusual headlines over the weekend by claiming he wants to invest in the Premiership champions. Inspired by the work of Hollywood pair Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at EFL club Wrexham, Snoop Dogg wants to be the latest celebrity to make a move in football.

Broadcast Jeff Stelling and ex-Wrexham boss Dean Saunders have debated the merits behind this proposal, with the American worth an estimated $160million as shared by Heart. A cutting question has been asked amid debate over the rapper’s intentions for Celtic. Have a look at the debate that broke out on talkSPORT below,

Stelling: “Snoop in the news this morning because he says he is ready to invest in Celtic after being inspired by his Hollywood pals Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who, of course, bought Wrexham. He’d even be happy to take on the mascot duties, I love that, his favourite club.”

Saunders: “Has he got a few quid, Snoop? He must have. I think he’s probably caked in money and he’s going to need it.”

Stelling: “Do you think he’s a Celtic fan?”

Saunders: “No. Do you know what as well? There are a few reasons why you buy a football club. One is because you like Football Manager, and you’ve got that much money that you think, ‘Why don’t I buy a real club? And I can pick the team and I can do tactics’ and then you realize you’ve got a manager, so you have to sack him.

“Or ego, to say you own a football club, or you’re trying to make money or lose money, in some cases. So what’s his motive?”
