The Celtic manager reacted after a good night for his team.

Brendan Rodgers says all focus he has is not with the alarming form slide at Rangers after Celtic won 2-0 against Dundee.

The boss at Parkhead rotated and tinkered with his side to hand fringe men some chances. But Dundee had them held to 0-0 at half-time and into the second half before calling for some regulars from the bench.

It was them who helped deliver a victory in the end. Alistair Johnston netted his second in as many games almost instantly after coming on and Arne Engels scored a penalty to seal three points. They remain level on points with Aberdeen at the top of the Premiership, but the gap has widened on Rangers. The Dons beat Philippe Clement’s men 2-1 in a dramatic clash at Pittodrie so Celtic now have a nine-point gap opened on their arch-rivals.

It’s another defeat for Rangers, who also recently lost 1-0 to Kilmarnock as a title charge lies in tatters by Halloween on another appalling night, with the Dons to come on Premier Sports Cup semi-final duty for Celtic this weekend. Speaking on Sportsound, Rodgers has reacted to the latest Celtic win, a ninth from 10 games in the league. He says that’s where he is focused, not Ibrox.

He said: “My only focus is on ourselves, looking at us improving our performance level as we go through the season. We should have won against Aberdeen, we went a bit slack but we'll learn from that. I'm really pleased with the squad, we've been fantastic with lots of improvements to make.

"It was a really good game against them here [at Celtic Park]. We'll be ready for that, we love going to Hampden. We're in a good place, getting players back so we'll be ready."
