Brendan Rodgers has commented on Nicolas Kuhn’s rise amid transfer noise after Celtic put on a European performance for the ages against RB Leipzig.
Going into their fourth match in the league phase of the Champions League, they knew that victory would not only push them closer to the play-off round, but keep hopes of the top eight and last 16 football alive. A Kuhn-inspired display guided them to a 3-1 win over Bundesliga opposition.

Then with Celtic in control of the game in the second half, Reo Hatate put the finishing touches on a night reminiscent of the famous Euro glory nights of yesteryear. Speaking after the game, Rodgers commented on Kuhn, who has been linked with a exit from Parkhead with Premier League clubs circling. He has a valuation over €10m according to Sky Germany.
Perhaps surprisingly, it was words of where he can improve that have been sent to him from Rodgers, with an admission of his excitement with the ball. He said: “He’s still young and still has more to go.
“I thought his pressing could have been better tonight (Tuesday), that is a thing I said to him. He’s learning and developing all the time. We have seen his talent. Bringing him to here was about making more goal contributions, more robust, he was really exciting when he had the ball.”

We win the ball high up the pitch, it was a nice way to finish the half. I thought we managed to second half so well.
“Some of our football in the second half was outstanding. I thought the supporters were great. We have to stay humble in our work, we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves. We now focus on our next game and when Club Brugge comes, we’ll look to keep adding to our points.”
