Long-serving Celtic star James Forrest became the latest name to sign a contract extension with the Hoops in what has so far been a highly productive month for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The one-club winger, who made his debut for the Bhoys in 2010 said: "I've loved every minute of being here, from being a wee boy coming through the youth and all the ups that I've had playing for the first team," he told Celtic TV.

"I'm just delighted that I've managed to work hard and hopefully I can keep contributing to the team for another year."

Forrest is now one trophy away from equalling Bobby Lennox as the most successful player in Celtic’s history and another player that will be keen to add to his trophy cabinet will be Alistair Johnston.

The 51-time Canadian international also put pen to paper on a new long-term contract which keeps him at Parkhead until 2029.

The 26-year-old, who arrived from CF Montreal told the club website: “I am delighted to extend my contract with Celtic. I got a brilliant welcome to the club in 2022 and ever since I have had the best of times, loving every minute as part of such a great institution and I wanted to continue to be a part of that.”
