Chris Sutton delivers stern Wilfried Nancy warning to Celtic as Rangers 'make proposal' for midfielder
Chris Sutton has raised his concerns over Wilfried Nancy as Celtic manager
Wilfried Nancy has a huge clash on his hands this weekend as Celtic prepare to face Rangers. The new Hoops boss has come under scrutiny due to the underwhelming run of form under his tenure so far.

Since Nancy’s arrival, Celtic have lost five of their seven games played in all competitions. They finished the year with a 2-0 defeat to Motherwell, allowing Rangers to close the gap on them to just three points ahead of the derby.
Chris Sutton issues Wilfried Nancy sack ultimatum to Celtic
Given the shaky start to Nancy’s time at Parkhead, conversations are already being had regarding whether he is the right man for the job. Chris Sutton has bluntly stated that the club need to back him this transfer window, or replace him as manager.
“The Celtic board need to keep this one very simple because there’s only one question to consider. Do Celtic stand the best chance of winning the Premiership with Nancy at the helm?” Sutton asked, via Record Sport.
“Based on what we have seen, the answer to that is a resounding no. Nancy is attempting to play fantasy football with a squad who can't do it. Well, this is the real world.
“If Celtic choose to keep him and take a long-term approach, he needs five or six new faces. Not at the end of the month. Now. Listen, I don’t like being knee-jerk with things, but if he stays and that doesn’t happen, I think Celtic are screwed.
“The club has to think about the way forward. Like I said, I’m all for the greater good and patience. But the facts are staring the hierarchy and the fans in the face. It’s not working. So give Nancy the tools to make it work. Or just put him out of misery.”
Rangers ‘make proposal’ for midfield transfer target
Rangers are eager to add to their squad this month as they push to enter the Premiership title race. The Light Blues have found their form under new manager Danny Rohl, and now he is looking to add to his options for the second half of the season.
Former Aberdeen chief Keith Wyness recently revealed Rangers will prioritise the signing of a new striker and midfielder this window. Now, according to Football Insider, they have listed Emil Bohinen as an ‘ideal candidate’ to pursue this winter.
Those at Ibrox have ‘already made a proposal’ to Bohinen and his own intentions ‘appear to be conductive’ towards a move. The 26-year-old, who was born in Derby but represents Norway at international level, is currently on loan with Serie B side Venezia. However, he has made just one start for the club this season and his deal looks set to be terminated early.
There are other clubs in Serie B interested in signing Bohinen but he has ‘expressed his intention’ to move to a completely different country for the next step in his career. That’s according to Tutto Venezia, who have also mentioned the interest being shown by Rangers.
Rangers have ‘put themselves forward’ to sign Bohinen as they work on adding new personnel to their ranks this month.
