and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
January is now a month away and the countdown is on to transfer o’clock.
It’s advent time and presents are on the minds of some, but bargains in the January sales will be what Celtic and others will hope for in the upcoming window if they want to bolster their squads. Celtic hold a lead at the top of the Premiership.

Hide AdThis will be Brendan Rodgers’ fourth transfer window since returning to the club for a second spell, but what does his record look like? Ranking every signing from 1-10 - one being awful and 10 being outstanding - here is how we list the deals. We’re ranking anything three and under in the flop category.
The only deal taken out of this one is Tomoki Iwata’s loan from Yokohama F. Marinos being made permanent, as that was in motion before his time.
Odin Thiago Holm - 3/10
There’s a player within the Norwegian as fleeting appearances have shown but appears out the picture and hasn’t played consistently.
Marco Tilio - 2/10
Saved from a one on the basis there is still a realm where he comes back and shines. But so far, Tilio hasn’t offered much and is currently on loan at Melbourne City.

Hide AdYang Hyun-jun - 4/10
Has had runs in the team in fits and starts, more last term than this one. Overall, still wanting more from the winger.
Kwon - 2/10
Same boat as Tilio. Out on loan at Hibs and doesn’t look likely to ever play a game for Celtic.
Maik Nawrocki - 3/10
Harsh? Maybe a tad. But Celtic brought the defender in for a reported fee of over £4m and he has never looked likely to hold down a starting XI place. Another on the fringes.
Gustaf Lagerbielke - 1/10
Yeah, this just hasn’t worked. Out on loan at FC Twente after failing to cement himself and could have left in January. Fee of over £3m pushes him into one category.

Hide AdLuis Palma - 5/10
An absolute enigma. 10 goals and 10 assists from 43 games is decent enough but overall play again leaves you wanting more. Consistency has alluded him and minutes are growing scarcer. Could be one with a decision to make if minutes don’t go up.
Nat Phillips - 2/10
Came and played a handful of games as emergency defence cover, not covering himself in glory across the matches. A signing that filled a gap and that’s about it.
Paulo Bernardo (loan) - 7/10
More on this guy later. But his loan last season after taking time to adapt proved successful and showed Celtic fans a midfield talent ready to be moulded in Rodgers’ image.
Nicolas Kuhn - 9/10
A smash hit. Taken time to adapt and has started this term on fire, now looking like the next star who’ll make the club major profit. When he does, he’ll hit 10/10 status.

Hide AdAdam Idah (loan) - 10/10
Yep, loans and a deal doesn’t get better than this. Scored big goals en route to the title and found the winner in the Scottish Cup final vs Rangers. A top signing.
Viljami Sinisalo - N/A
Yet to see much of him but goalkeeper comes with promise from Aston Villa.
Kasper Schmeichel - 9/10
They needed a replacement for Joe Hart and in Schmeichel they have a top operator. Goalkeeper in his twilight years but a great option for this term and possibly next.
Paulo Bernardo (permanent) - 8/10
In the early stages of his permanent move, Bernardo looks worth every penny so far with some classy performances and touches.

Hide AdAdam Idah (permanent) - 6/10
He’s started slowly after catching fire at the end of last season, and has the expectation of a £9.5m deal to juggle. But goals slowly starting to flow now.
Alex Valle - 7/10
Left-back looks every bit a product of Barcelona. Raw? Yes, but component parts of a good modern full-back are there.
Auston Trusty - 8/10
Took a little bit of time to slot in but now looks the main man in defence alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers. Rock solid.
Arne Engels - 7/10
There’s been criticisms of the Belgian after costing more than £10m, and perhaps having more expectation because of that. There’s been flashes though of outstanding play and is just taking time to adapt. Expect him to come good.
Yep, we’re going early with our 10/10 shout on this one. But how can you not? Arrived for a low fee, boyhood Celtic fan, who is thriving at Parkhead. Loving life in Hoops and fans feeling is mutual.
