Green Brigade issue Celtic 'anxiety' demand as three-step plan to unlock title race advantage set in motion
Celtic fans have been urged to get behind their side in more ways than one.
Celtic supporters group, the Green Brigade, have issued a three-step plan they feel will give Martin O’Neill’s side an added edge in this year’s title race.
The defending Premiership champions are third heading into the post-split fixtures but still only three points off leaders Hearts, with Rangers a place and point in front. It’s been a season of civil war between board and supporters, but with the ultras group returning to Parkhead in their last match with St Mirren after a ban spanning several months, the Green Brigade are urging punters to unite as one in Glasgow’s east-end.
With home fixtures against Falkirk, Rangers and Hearts to come before the end of the season, the ultras have issued three ways in which those in the stands can make their home turf intimidating for those who enter it in opposition colours. In a statement released on social media, they note that Celtic are in unknown territory when it comes to a title race involving three clubs, but insists it’s their duty to support boss O’Neill whichever way they can.

It’s stated by the group: “As Celtic supporters, we are in uncharted territory finding ourselves in a three-way dog fight for the league title. With margins so slim, we have a distinct advantage over our rivals with three home matches. However, this is only an advantage if we make use of that home support. It is up to all of us to play our part, to do what we can to give our team an extra ounce of energy and motivation.
“It is not enough to merely turn up. It is not constructive to turn on the team if they are struggling. It is not helpful to pass our anxiety onto the pitch. Instead, we must meet our own responsibility. We must be vocal. We must back the team and give them energy. We must be their 12th man.
“We must make Celtic Park a place where Celtic players thrive and opposition players fold. To help achieve this, we invite all Celtic supporters to do three simple things. These three things are as follows:

Our Paradise: “Decorate every corner of Celtic Park in CS banners and flags. Make sure that when Celtic takes the field they see the colours behind them; and the opposition sees what stands against them.”
