How to watch Celtic v St Mirren: kick-off time, tv channel, live stream, team news + referee and VAR officials

Everything you need to know about this weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final clash

Celtic will face St Mirren in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup this weekend - just four months since their last Hampden encounter.

Martin O’Neill’s side have an opportunity to avenge their 3-1 League Cup final defeat to St Mirren in December, when Stephen Robinson got the better of Wilfried Nancy to end the Buddies’ 12-year wait for silverware. Both managers have moved on since then, as Craig McLeish is now tasked with upsetting the current Scottish champions. The winner will face either Falkirk or Dunfermline Athletic in the final on May 23.

Despite St Mirren’s recent cup success, the Hoops boast a better league record over their Paisley rivals, having won all three Premiership meetings 1-0. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain bagged the winner in last weekend’s Celtic Park trial run between the sides in a match where the hosts were far from convincing. As they prepare to face off for the second time in eight days, here’s everything you need to know about the Scottish Cup semi final between Celtic and St Mirren:

What is the team news for Celtic ahead of the St Mirren clash?

Arne Engels made his long-awaited return against St Mirren last weekend when he came off the bench for Benjamin Nygren in the second half. The Belgian has been out since February with a thigh strain but is slowly but surely making his way back up to match sharpness.

Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand have both been out for months with hamstring issues but are also nearing a return, however it looks as if the weekend may come to soon. O’Neill is trying to organise a bounce game through the week to aid the recovery of his returning stars.

The usual suspects Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Kasper Schmeichel remain out for the season, now alongside Julian Araujo, who ‘re-injured’ himself while receiving treatment at parent club AFC Bournemouth. With Colby Donovan expected to remain out for the weekend with another hamstring issue, Anthony Ralston remains the only Celtic right back 100% fit and available.

For the Saints, Keanu Baccus, Marcus Fraser and Malik Dijksteel remain sidelined. Backup goalkeeper, Ryan Mullen is expected to start between the sticks after Shamal George collided with Tomas Cvancara in the first half on Saturday, forcing him off.
