Peter Lawwell 'attempts to mock' Celtic fans as Tottenham loanee suffers cruel Rangers injury blow

Celtic’s Annual General Meeting was called to an early close after the club board were met with boos and red cards

Peter Lawwell has been accused of ‘attempting to mock’ Celtic fans during the club’s Annual General Meeting, which was called to an early close after both board members and members of the crowd walked out.

Peter Lawwell ‘attempts to mock’ Celtic fans at AGM

Celtic’s AGM has been held but the board has come under further fire after Lawwell made the decision to end things early.

Anti-board banners, red cards, boos and walk-outs all featured in what was a chaotic meeting, which led to Lawwell warning he would end the AGM early. In the end, that’s exactly what he did.

Dermot Desmond’s son Ross was in attendance on his behalf, and read out a statement that took aim at ‘negativity and misinformation’ shrouding the club. He followed up: “There is no doubt we make mistakes and try to learn from them, we will not be bullied by aggressive factions.”

As some members of the crowd laughed, Lawwell demanded they ‘show a little respect’, before ultimately drawing the meeting to a premature close before the Q&A session had even begun.

The Celtic Trust provided social media followers with a run-through of the AGM’s events, posting that Lawwell ‘attempted to mock fans’ with a quip about how some ‘don’t usually attend the AGM’.

The unsuccessful meeting and early curtailment has left fans furious and even more against the board than they were before.

Danny Rohl provides latest Rangers injury news

Danny Rohl has provided insight into his side’s latest fitness news as a handful of players are expected to miss the upcoming action.

Rangers will face Livingston this afternoon in their first match back following the international break, but they will be without some personnel.

Derek Cornelius, Mikey Moore and John Souttar are all facing spells on the sidelines after picking up muscle injuries. Rohl revealed that Youssef Chermiti and Liam Kelly are both ‘big question marks’ ahead of today’s clash, while Bailey Rice is expected to be out for a ‘long while’.

“Before the international break, we had nearly no injuries,” Rohl explained ahead of the Livingston game.

“John is out with a muscle injury. We have to wait [to see] how long. Mikey's out with a muscle injury. How long, it's difficult to say at the moment.

“Derek has to go to a specialist, again with a muscle injury. Could be a serious one, a big one. Youssef is a big question mark, he got a kick.”

Rohl revealed he is hopeful that both Souttar and Moore will be back ‘at the end of December’ but there is no guarantee of a fixed return date at this moment in time.

“It's a muscle injury, it could be 25 days, it could be 40 days. You never know,” he continued. Moore has been coming into his own for Rangers and enjoying regular minutes with his loan club. He scored his maiden Gers goal last time out against Dundee but could be out for a significant chunk of time with an injury setback.

“Derek at the moment, I have a little doubt that it's just four weeks, five weeks. It could be longer. Liam is a big question mark,” Rohl continued. “Bailey got the injury last week in the training, muscle injury, he'll be out for a long while.”
