The 17-times grammy-nominated multi-millionaire rapper has revealed he would he “crazy not to” consider putting some of his millions in his favourite club, whom he has supported since 2005, after learning about his close friend Reynolds decision to buy Welsh club Wrexham.

In an interview with the Sunday Mail, the entrepreneur - who thrilled fans as a torchbearer at the Paris Olympics - said: “I love what Ryan has done with Wrexham – it’s just a great story. Investing in a sports team has been something I have been looking at for a long time – if the chance came to invest in Celtic, I would be crazy not to take a look at it.

As if it wan't enough that superstar rapper Snoop Dogg was one of the final torch bearers before the Opening Ceremony, he then turned up (alongside Tom Cruise) to cheer on fellow American Simone Biles in the gymnastics. If you'd told the 21-year-old Snoop, freshly released from prison for yet another drugs conviction, that this is what his future would hold, he might have been sceptical.placeholder image

“I have watched so much soccer in Europe but I have never seen fans like the Celtic fans. There is something so special about them. There is a reason why their fans are talked about across Europe – the best players and coaches in the world tell you there is nowhere like Celtic Park and I want to be a part of that. Their mascot is a hound – you couldn’t make that up. Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound – that’s gotta be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves.”

The 52-year-old, whose reported net worth is $160million, has previously made his feelings known towards Celtic by wearing the green and white hoops and attending matches sporadically over the last two decades. He wore the clubs colours as he posed with his dancers after playing at the Glasgow OVO Hydro last year.

He also admitted he would plan a title party with the Celtic squad in Scotland after they clinched the 2022/23 championship. In March 2023, the music mogul was welcomed onto the tarmac at Glasgow Airport with a rendition of his hit Still D.R.E by a bagpiper.

And earlier this year, Snoop revealed he would love to catch a game with fellow celebrity fan Sir Rod Stewart at Celtic Park as well as sing with him in Las Vegas. The dad of four said: “I would love to go to a Celtic game with Sir Rod – if not this season maybe the next - we need to make that happen. He is one of the true kings of Vegas and, for real, Vegas has always been Snoop’s town.”

Snoop also stated audiences in Scotland are the best in the world, adding: “Scots always give me so much love – I am welcomed with bagpipes or a Celtic jersey. They are real classy – when Snoop touches down in Scotland, he always feels that love and you guys get that love right back. The last show I did in Glasgow was off the shizzle. Scotland, I promise I’ll be back.”
