Clyde held by ten-man Montrose

Montrose 1 Clyde 1Scottish League Division Three

CLYDE were held to a share of the points on Saturday, when third-placed Montrose battled back to earn a draw.

The home side were reduced to ten men in only the eighth minute of the game, when McNally deliberately handled the ball in the box and was immediately shown a red card by referee Paul Robertson.

John Sweeney stepped up to take the resulting spot-kick and put Clyde ahead.

The rest of the first half was fairly even, with Jamie Barclay pulling off a good save from Terry Masson and Michael Oliver just missing the target at the other end.

The Gable Endies came out strongly in the second half and equalised just before the hour mark. Scott Johnston finished off a good move by thumping the ball past Barclay and into the net.

The ten-man home side continued to press for a winner, with Leighton McIntosh notably forcing Barclay into a sharp stop.
