Crowdfunding raises £16k in just days in memory of Holytown’s Liam

A Justgiving page set up in memory of Liam Scott to raise funds for local children who struggle to find the money for sports kit has netted £16,000 in a matter of days.

The Holytown lad, who played for Bellshill Athletic, died after falling into the water at the Falls of Clyde on Thursday, June 18.

Family and friends of the former Braidhurst High School pupil decided to create a foundation in Liam’s memory so that some good might come of the tragedy.

Liam’s mum Pauline has said: “The Liam Scott Foundation would help children from Holytown and other areas across Lanarkshire who come from under-privileged backgrounds to purchase football boots and other associated kit so they too can help fulfil their dreams.”
