Cumbernauld Colts beaten by Huntly in much postponed Scottish Cup tie


The first round tie, originally scheduled on Boxing Day but postponed four times, finally went ahead at the fifth time of asking after being switched from Huntly's Christie Park to Cove Rangers' Balmoral Stadium in Aberdeen.
And Colts wasted no time in making the most of the opportunity to play, taking the lead after just three minutes.

Hide AdBilly Mortimer got free down the right and his low cross was confidently converted by Fraser team.
However Huntly levelled just before the half-hour, Glenn Murison curling the ball over Colts keeper Jonathan Grier from long range.
Home keeper Euan Storrier saved well from Colts skipper Stephen O'Neill early in the second half before Huntly took the lead on 53 minutes through Reece McKeown.
Colts were convinced of an offside but the goal stood.
The visitors battled to get back on level terms and Team was denied by a save from Storrier.

Hide AdCameron Foy then did get the ball in the Huntly net but this time referee Filippo Mazzoni did give offside.
With Colts desperately chasing an equaliser they were caught on the break two minutes from time when Cai Matthew's pass picked out Gavin Elphinstone who beat Grier with a low finish to seal victory.
The win gives Huntly a second round trip to League One side Dumbarton on Saturday.
For Colts, it's back to Lowland League business at home to Gretna 2008.
