Cumbernauld hit for six

Glasgow Perthshire . . . . . . . . . . . 6

The New Town team began the game brightly matching the Possilpark side for the first 20 minutes, but after losing the opening goal, United were brushed aside by the physically stronger Perthshire team.

From the kick-off the home team had the advantage of a strongish breeze, but it was United who were the first to threaten with two Paul McLaughlin (pictured) efforts, the second of which brought out a good save from Chris Calder in the Perthshire goal.

Then Nico Petrucci tried his luck but was thwarted again by Calder.
